Luxo’s Minerva FSD luminaires and Travel downlighters have been included in a refurbishment of the fifth and six floors of BT House in Dundee.
A key criterion for the lighting design in these office areas was a balanced even light distribution to ensure the optimum visual conditions for computer users, while creating a pleasant working environment. Gus Campbell, from Atkins Design Solutions, chose Luxo’s Minerva FSD luminaires for installation in a new 600 x 600 ceiling grid. Minerva FSD is a recessed luminaire that provides both direct and indirect illumination which, in turn, creates an ergonomic and energy efficient environment in office applications. Luxo Travel ceiling mounted downlights were also installed to supplement the Minerva luminaires and give low glare, high lumen output. Gus commented “For such a demanding programme, Luxo offered the quality of product we were looking for at the right price, whilst providing a slightly different design solution that everyone was happy with, all within the projects deadlines”.
Contractors were given just six weeks to complete the refurbishment project and Gomer Electrical was brought in to install all of the lighting and electrics. Charlie Dunstan, from Gomer Electrical, added “With such tight deadlines Luxo came up trumps in terms of the service they provided and the exacting delivery times”.
